www.LaceReader.com is up & running and so is the book
The Lace Reader website (www.LaceReader.com) is now up and running. We’re still about 3 months away from actually having books in stores but we do have ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) out there and reviewers and early readers can use the website to get quick, detailed information about the book and its author. For a first draft, I think we’ve done a fairly good job. Check it out when you get a moment.
Speaking of early readers, a few days ago we completed our first book club “meet the author” session with a long established group in Bedford, MA. They are a savvy group of experienced readers so I was thrilled when their feedback on The Lace Readerwas: 1) We couldn’t stop reading this book 2) We loved the protagonist and 3) We want the next book from this author…now! Several readers asked for additional ARC copies of The Lace Reader for friends or other reading groups. We happily complied. The author, Brunonia Barry, had a wonderful time discussing her writing process, the book itself, and hearing directly from readers how the book impacted them. We’re so enthusiastic about this process that we’ve signed up another book group in Marblehead for the same “meet the author” scenario so we’ll have at least one more chance to talk to early readers this summer.
